A warm welcome to my little site about lawn mower belts!
I agree, it does seem a little odd to have an entire web site dedicated lawn mower belts. But sit tight, and I shall tell you what led me to put together this web site.
At a real estate auction about three years ago, I picked up a compact riding lawn mower for the bargain price of $60. I'd never owned a rider before and my lower back was very thankful for the acquisition. The mower is a Simplicity 738 Broadmoor, from the early 1970s. I got it home, fired it up and cut the grass in 10 minutes flat instead of the hour it usually took me with the push mower. I was delighted with the new mower.
After a month or so, it became apparent that the drive belts were worn and had slackened so I thought a new set would be a wise investment. However, finding them was a little bit of a challenge. The local hardware stores did not have a set and the local tractor stores I tried either did not have a suitable set of belts, or tried to talk me in to buying a new tractor. By now I was back on the push mower as the tractor mower sat collecting dust.
Word of mouth eventually led me to a small out-of-the-way mower and tractor repair shop that had a set of belts. And within 10 minutes of geting home with them, they were on the tractor and it was running like new again.
I set up this site to help out anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation, unable to find a suitable set of mower belts. Slowly, I'll add more tractor manufacturers and belt types on the left hand navigation menu in the hope that anyone looking for any lawn mower belt will only have to drop by here to find it.
